ERSA Standard Stringing Method

This is not the only way to string.
We want all the workshop leaders to teach the same techniques as our standard technique around the
world.
Other items deemed important or useful can be added to the information during the workshops.
The ERSA Method is not the only way to string but one standard way which was agreed on by most of our
workshop leaders and testers.

A. Checking the Frame and string B. Mounting the frame
1. Remove the strings
2. Wipe off the Racket
3. Check for cracks in the frame
4. Check the grommets and bumper guard 5. Mount the frame correctly according to the type of machine
6. Mount the same way, i.e. with the logo on the butt cap up
7. Clean and adjust the clamps with a tensioned string

C. Installing the mains – 2 Piece stringing

8. Measure the string for the mains
9. Check the string for defects.
10. Check calibration and set tension.
11. Place the string in the frame, tension and
use one of the 2 recommended methods to
hold the first string in place.
12. Install 2 strings to the left then 2 to the
right alternating. With high tension on
oversiz light rackets, install the outside 4
mains alternating every string.
13. Add plus 4 kilos knot tension on the last
string and tie-off.
