My Serve
Welcome to Issue 5 of Pro Stringer Magazine. In this
issue we are presenting some of our members and
their businesses. We have some amazing members
who are designing new products.
Featured in this issue is Nikki Roenn of Unstrung
Customs. Nikki does racquet tuning, painting and now
making custom pallets for almost all racquet models. I
had some racquets painted by Unstrung Customs last
year and were great looking at a very fair price. The
new pallets are custom made for each player and they
can also make the racquet longer with the pallets. The
pallets are made with 3D printing with a special printer
and material. The price is much less than making a
mould and the tolerances are much closer.
Also featured in this issue is Louis Lin of Xpider
stringing machines in Taiwan. Louis designs stringing
machines and now has a new clamp base that many
of our members are raving about. It is very easy to use
and is being made adaptable to many other
manufacturers’ machines. I will be testing them on a
Yonex machine this summer.
Also featured in this issue is the new Dunlop CX
Performance Holdall. A smart bag that makes it easy
to pack all of your equipment and also easy to fi nd it.
I know from experience that many items packed in my
bag fall into the bottom underneath something and I
cannot fi nd it without emptying my bag out.
I spent a couple of days with our Squash Manager,
Nick Down in Hereford. I took a
workshop on “special” squash
patterns and passed my
certifi cation up to Pro Tour
Stringer Level 2. I can highly
recommend this to all of our
members. With all the strange
patterns, you learn to think and
fi gure everything out quickly
with Nick.
