SAVE TIME WITH KNOT TENSIONS

TIP - Buy a machine with touch up knot tensioning .

We add four kilos to the last string before tying the knot to help reduce tension loss on the last string . I know it is not enough most of the time if it is a thick poly or someone with not enough strength tying the knots . Many of the electric stringing machines add 10 % when you hit the knot button . When you string a poly at 20 kilos that is only 2 kilos more on the last string . Other machines let you add how many kilos you want but often limited to three kilos .
Two of the machines we have in our shops offer the possibility to kick up the knot tension . On Yonex machines you have to push the KNOT button after tensioning . This will add the percent you have programmed on the machine . We use 15 % on the Yonex machines . If you string at 25 kilos this will give you 3.8 kilos on their machine . It goes up by 0.2 kilos . Then all you have to do push the up button 1 time and you will have four kilos .
On the HEAD machine you have to push the KNOT button before tensioning . This goes automatically plus 10 %. On this machine you can then the increase tension button and this will kick up the knot tension .
Be sure how you want to tension the last string before purchasing a machine . If you have a machine that only puts 10 % on the last string , the only other possibility it to adjust the tension manually to 4 pounds on each knot string . If you are busy it is a lot of work and you could forget to put is back down and start stringing at the wrong tension .
