TOYOTA

As World Championship hangovers go, Toyota’s 2015 campaign starred from the bottom of a glass table as Porsche and Audi simply ran rings around the Japanese outfit.

The race team had warned management of such an eventuality, but it was only after Porsche and Audi graffitied the wall at Spa that Toyota began to push development on their 2016 challenger.

Taking cues from Weissach, the TS 050 will feature a tight V4 turbo power-plant and have utilised battery technology over their seasoned super capacitor. One area that many observers missed last year was the two-second aero gain Toyota achieved at the beginning of 2015 – something to be noted should their new package prove to be reliable out of the box.
