Formula One refugee Giedo van der Garde was an invited guest of the series organisers at the Formula E title decider in London.

Van der Garde, who drove for Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag’s Barwa Addax team in GP2 in 2010 and 2011, had been contracted to drive for Sauber this season before reaching a settlement with the team on the eve of the Australian Grand Prix.

“I think the drivers line-up here is very strong, it’s a credible alternative to Formula One and I like what the owners are doing here, the look with IMG_1562[2]how everything is, the tracks, they‘ve done a good job,” sad the Dutchman. I know the owners of the series quite well, so I’m looking around a bit for the future, we’re looking at several options. This might be a good option, maybe DTM or WEC, so let’s see.”

Both Formula One and Formula E have come under fire for their lack of noise, but that isn’t something that particularly bothers van der Garde.

“It’s probably the future, I think you have to get used to it,” he said. “The future might be electric – maybe not – it’s still a question mark, but let’s see what comes up.
