2014 Asian Le Mans Series champions Ho-Pin Tung and David Cheng will lead Pegasus Racing Team Total’s line-up for the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June in addition to competing in the Six Hours of Shanghai in November.
In a Friday press conference in Shanghai, it was also announced that Frenchman Leo Roussel would join Tung and Cheng in Pegasus Racing’s Morgan LMP2 Evo Nissan for Le Mans.
“We have very good advantages with our drivers”, said team owner Julien Schell.
” Leo Roussel, 19-year-old French pilot to have raced at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2014, assisted by Ho-Pin Tung and David Cheng both of which are very experienced and efficient. With these pilots, Pegasus Racing Team Total has really good chance to fight for the classification.”
Pegasus sports marketing manager Remy Brouard said Pegasus’ aim was to have three Chinese drivers ready the Shanghai WEC event in November.
“It is the third year of our cooperation with the project of the ‘Road of Le Mans’ with Chinese pilots,” Brouard said. “This year we will race after Le Mans in Shanghai WEC with three Chinese pilots.
Both Tung and Cheng were part of the first-ever all-Chinese driver line-up at Le Mans in 2014 driving for OAK Racing.
