In fact, this year Patrick (@OurReturn2014) and I went to the FIA WEC race in Spa (close to the south of the Netherlands where we live) to see the new Porsche 919 Hybrid race and it was awesome. So I instantly liked this competition when I saw it on Twitter and retweeted it to my friends too.
BA: What was your Strategy for the 24 hours?
@endexjoey: There were only two of us in the team - Patrick (@OurReturn2014) and me. We started 1.5hours into the LeMans 24hr race and our team had only 2 players whereas most other teams had 3 players, but our Strategy was to send out as many (tweets and photos) as possible and something else that was a big advantage was that we had a lot of Porsche knowledge.
There was not much time to answer each question (about 10-15 seconds) and we think the faster you answer a question, the bigger the boost one got so we did that part very fast.
BA: I noticed that a Weibo user was leading for most of the competition but you caught up and overtook them by the end of the race. How did that happen?
@endexjoey: Yes, they had a very BIG LEAD because they started 1.5 hour before we did.
As we did not start at the beginning of the race, we had to keep tweeting and hope that the other competitors took a nap! We hadn’t planned not to sleep but once you are in it, then you have to do anything to win it so we stayed awake for the entire LeMans race!
BA: Would you like to see more competitions like this in the future? Are there any improvements or suggestions to improve it?
Team HLB_Porsche: Yes, but not during the race. As a fan you want to watch the race – this time it was very difficult to keep an eye out for questions popping up and watching the race at the same time.
As a fan, you want to watch the race and not focus on Twitter, so if the #socialrace takes place a week before the REAL 24h race you could do both and maybe let the winner go LeMans.
Also, Porsche has a very long racing history and there are many more race cars and drivers in Porsche that are interesting to followers on Twitter/Weibo. So it would
