Jota Sport secured LMP2 victory at Le Mans in one of the most hotly contested class battles of recent years.

The No. 38 Zytek Z11SN Nissan, piloted by Le Mans rookie Harry Tincknell along with Simon Dolan and Oliver Turvey (who was drafted when Audi reserve Marc Gene was called to replace the injured Loic Duval), triumphed after an arm-wrestle with the debuting Ligier JS P2 Nissan in run by the Thiriet by TDS Racing team.

The #38 Jota suffered a scare when it required a late fuel-stop in the remaining 15 minutes. The stop enabled the Ligier to close but was just out of touching distance at the flag.

The #36 Signatech Alpine A450 Nissan took the final class podium position in the hands of Nelson Panciatici, Paul-Loup Chatin and Oliver Webb, whilst the #35 OAK entry of Alex Brundle and Nissan GT Academy graduates Jann Mardenborough and Mark Shulzhitskiy were cruelly denied a podium spot after leading the majority of the race.

Brundle in particular was lapping at times within 2 seconds of the #20 Porsche 919 Hybrid, a performance that should undoubtedly put him on Nissan’s LMP1 radar in 2015.
