Only four cars may have been entered for Silverstone, but it did not disappoint when it came to the battle for the lead, as the fight between the #26 G-Drive Morgan and #47 KCMG carried on from the very beginning. Tsugio Matsuda, who is one of several drivers that competes in the Super Formula championship, was holding the gap, before swapping with Howson just after the two hour mark.

The other two LMP2 cars that were entered had their share of difficulties, as both SMP Racing ORECA 03 Nissan entries could not keep up the pace and intense battling with the #26 G-Drive and #47 KCMG, with Tsugio Matsuda leading the class in the early goings.

The lead changed hands between the two cars over the duration of the race, whereas the SMP Racing ORECAs were not having the best of times, with the #37 stopping on track and later retiring due to a fuel pump failure after just completing 65 laps in total. The #27 was able to secure the final podium spot of the day, but was n amongst the GTE Pro and Am cars down in 13th overall.

KCMG was leading with Richard Bradley behind the wheel in the final stages, trying to keep Olivier Pla at bay with a matter of tenths of a second separating the pair, but what was an exciting battle ended abruptly. The Hong Kong outfit was given a 10-second stop-and-go penalty for speeding in the pit lane during the safety car period, meaning that they would eventually finish a lap down, handing the G-Drive team of Pal, Rusinov and Canal with the class win.
