The WEC have entered into an agreement with Porsche, Toyota and Audi to offer full-factory tests to the top LMP2 drivers in the 2015 championship.

A potential test is proposed to take place after next year's Bahrain finale in November.

With only four cars from OAK Racing, KCMG, G-Drive and SMP Racing competing across the entire season, the ACO hopes the prospect of a factory test will attract more competitors to the class.

Millennium Racing and Strakka Racing have both struggled to put cars on the grid this year due to teething issues with their Oreca 03 and Dome Strakka S103 projects.

"We are working hard to do something like this at a test after the Bahrain race next year and we have obtained a pre-agreement”, said WEC President Gerard Neveau told Autosport. "It would help P2 and endurance racing in general by encouraging young drivers into the series."

The LMP1 factory squads have already thrown their support behind the idea.

"We support it because we have already done it with Mike Conway”, said Toyota motorsport boss Pascal Vasselon.

Audi boss Wolfgang Ullrich, likened the move to Audi’s own driver incentive program across a variety of motorsport platforms.

"We are discussing this and we would like to find a solution where we could include the best of the LMP2 drivers in the same way as we give a chance in a DTM car to the best drivers using Volkswagen engines in Formula 3" Dr Ullrich said.
