EVERETT'S BEEN THINKING

Ho-Ho-Ho, Happy Holidays Team ERA! I trust everyone enjoyed the Thanksgiving Holiday with family and friends. I know the King family did.

We have had an extremely successful 2013 (numbers update shorty), but it is not over and it is time to jump start 2014. This is something we talk about every year. At this time the competition has called it until next year and finished working the day before Thanksgiving. This gives you a tremendous opportunity to contact your sphere of influence and ask if they or any of their friends and family will be needing real estate services in 2014.

I had someone ask me the other day if our business was slow in December. The answer is yes and no. Yes, because people are thinking about the holidays and putting off major decisions until January. In reality the answer should be no. While the pool of buyers may be smaller this time of year, anyone that is actually in the market probably really needs to buy immediately. If you know someone who is planning to put their house on the market in January ask them to consider the following: Listing inventories are down (due to the holidays) creating fewer houses to choose from. This will give the homes that are listed a competitive advantage. Most homes are decorated to the max this time of year making them even more appealing. Fewer homes to choose from with extremely motivated buyers makes for a great opportunity to sell before the market becomes crowed in January. Note to all, the biggest month ERA has ever had was a December so it is what you make it.
