Once Upon
a Summer's Day
Author: Klement Silo
Once upon a summer’s day,
Was a towel, on which I lay,
Thinking that there’d be nothing more,
That the beach could have in store.
While I lay there, thinking deeply,
Suddenly I had an inkling,
To turn around, rather feebly,
And gaze upon the sea-blue shore.
As if there were gems galore,
The sea sparkled, shore to shore,
Leaving me no room to bore,
Rather, with an urge to go explore.
I found myself, once swimming freely,
Starting to get weak and sleepy,
The sun started setting down upon the now darkened shore.
If there were more time, I wondered, could I have felt something more?
