A big family reunion
To celebrate her life conclusion
We said farewell in January
A month ago we were so merry
In her house remains the decorations
A reminder of the celebration
Family gathered near and far
On top of the tree resides a star
That memory seems so very distant
Grief is a feeling so persistent
Tear stream down my swollen face
I reminisce about our last embrace
I say goodbye; they close the casket
We leave after we grab our jackets
The car ride home is eerily silent
The loss we felt was awfully giant
A big family reunion
