Epilogue
Dear Reader,
The three years I have spent as editor-in-chief have been phenomenal. I made friends and had fun while learning a lot about publishing and life.
Pablo Picasso once said, “The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.” By giving students a platform to express their creativity, Equinox helps them feel encouraged as they make it through the struggles of everyday life. By publishing their own work, or seeing the work of others, students can relax and feel inspired. I feel so honored to have helped Equinox on this important mission.
As my time at Maine South draws to a close, I would like to thank everyone who made this magazine a possibility. Thank you to my fellow Equinox team members for all of the hard work you put in. Thank you to Mr. Scorza and Mr. Marsicano, our sponsor teachers who woke up early so all of us could eat doughnuts and discuss magazine submissions. Thank you to the students who were generous enough to share their work with us. Finally, I would like to thank you, dear reader, for making our efforts worthwhile.
I will miss Equinox a lot, but I look forward to seeing what the future has to offer. It was fun to share the journey with you.
Sincerely,
Abigail Ekstrom
Editor-in-Chief (2014-2017)
