Equine Health Update Issue 2 Volume 19 | Page 4

President’s Report Manfred Rohwer Chairman SA Equine Veterinary Association Cell: 083 327 0237 D ear Members, Welcome to a good read of our second Equine Health Update for 2017. Johnny Cave has again done an excellent job to cover a variety of subjects from practice management, trade and communications including the Congress. It is a great challenge to create value in the membership of SAEVA. Hopefully the new approach to communications and education will go a long way in achieving this. SAEVA has negotiated a very good deal with BEVA to secure a digital membership to all SAEVA members who are resident in South Africa. This will be email to all members after the Executive meeting planned for mid August 2017. SAEVA representation on the BOD of SAEVA has been very positive and I am of the opinion that SAEVA’s relationship with SAVA is on the up and this will be to the benefit of us all. SAEVA has started the process of getting equine content to the regional congresses of SAVA, SAEVA did have repre- sentation at RUVASA congress. I do believe this is something that the organisation should pursue to get good quality equine material to the mixed practitioner. I would like all members to pay special attention to forthcoming Congresses especially the Vet PD as well as our An- nual Congress at Goudini Spa Western Cape in February 2018. Kind Regards Manfred Rohwer, President SAEVA 4 • Equine Health Update •
