NOTICE
CONCERNS REGARDING SAEVA MEMBERS AND
USE OF “ILLEGAL” FROZEN SEMEN
The SAEVA Executive has been approached with a request to inform our membership regarding the possible
unwitting utilisation of illegally acquired frozen semen on client mares. We would strongly urge that our
members ensure that their clients provide appropriate proof of DAFF-authorised clearance of any batch of frozen
semen prior to its utilisation. If you have been supplied with suspect semen you are obliged in terms of the
relevant legislation to report this to DAFF.
