EQUINE | Annual Report committees are: • Developing practical and effective terms of references for all positions on the executive to aid in the efficient execution of the specified tasks. This in it self makes the chairpersons tasks much lighter. - Angela Rogers- Finco - Glynn Catton-Fedco Medco - Caryn Rademeyer-Welfare - Education committee The main challenges for SAEVA as I see them are the following. • Membership numbers and appreciation of value for money. This hopefully has been addressed with the improved CPD and communications through the Website/Facebook and regular EHU newsletters. The association with BEVA and VetPD is am amazing value for money and top class CPD and webinars with apps. • To source and produce a value for money annual congress that will supply good quality CPD but not loose the ethos of the organization as in stimulating camaraderie within the equine profession. • Encourage young members to ‘get involved’ in our organization and nurturing the mentorship program and hopefully keeping them in the equine profession and members for life. • To maintain the structures of the committees and identify leaders who are enthusiastic, passionate and committed as well as being accountable to their commitment and the SAEVA. 28 • Create an effective committee to assist the President to deal with technical matters such as challenges posed by the SAVC, SAVA and welfare organizations. To improve the feedback to members with clear time lines. • To motivate Regional Representatives to ‘get involved’ in disease reporting. Motivate practices to ‘sign up’ and participate in the regional SAVA congresses with the help of the communication committee and Vetlink. This has been identified as one of the main focuses and challenges of SAEVA. • To restructure the Sport Horse subcommittee to engage with the SAEF executive as well as the Veterinary Committee of SAEF on a biannual basis. This to effectively influence the welfare program and passport control (registrations and traceability) of the national disciplines of SAEF. Thank you to my committee and all those dedicated members who have contributed their time and resource to SAEVA in the time of my leadership. I appreciate all your efforts and input into effecting change for the positive in our profession. Good luck to the incoming committee in their roles and commitment to carrying forward the SAEVA spirit. • Equine Health Update •
