Double gold for the burghley pony club senior games team!!!
A massive well done to the senior games team of:
Freja Munks on Minky, Ross Hemmings on Curtis, Lucy Daly on Rory, Charlie Fitt on Bart, Helen Peach on Danny For not only winning the tack and turn out at the area games on Sunday but for actually winning the Area 6, games competition. The first time the Burghley seniors have won since 2004!! I’m sure they will all agree, a rather excellent display on how games SHOULD NOT BE DONE at Belton Horse Trials the weekend before, lead to a wonderful team talk by Claire. Then Burghley bounced back, pulled themselves together and won in fine style at Osberton . Giving a great display of teamwork that was rewarded with a truly deserved result. Well done to you all, you really were amazing.
British Show Pony Society is delighted to announce that they will be holding The White Company BSPS Gold Cup Sports Pony Final on Sunday 8th September 2013 at Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials. This will be followed by a Championship. This offers a unique opportunity for BSPS members to qualify and compete at The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials and follow in the footsteps of many of our top event riders who started out in BSPS Working Hunter Pony Classes. There will be three classes for plaited ponies:-
Competitors will undertake a Dressage Test, prior to moving onto Performance WHP judged over cross country style fences by Henrietta Knight, following which, all ponies will come together as a Class and be judged on their gallop. The Sections culminate in a Show jumping finale including a joker fence for extra bonus points. Qualification will be through the Gold Cup classes at the BSPS Winter and Summer Championship show with the top four ponies in each class qualifying at the Winter Championships and the top eight ponies, not already qualified in the top twelve at the summer Championship Show. The BSPS believe this major championship will provide a show case for our young riders and enable them to experience the unique atmosphere of Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials and are delighted to be working in partnership to develop this competition further in future years. The Groups can be individuals, Pony Club, Riding Club or a group of friends wishing to gain experience and practice. Maximum 8 per group. Tracey has excellent credentials as an event rider and BE Accredited coach, having won two CCI** and placed in the top ten in 8 CCI*** competitions. Willoughby Lodge Farm o?ers the ?rst fully all-weather cross country arena in the UK. There is a full range of cross country and show-jumps, together with a water complex.
