Welsh Pony & Cob section
The Champion Section A was
the yearling filly Jenkira Kandice
owned by Mary Wilson from
Ilkeston. Champion Section B and
reserve supreme Welsh was Saltre
Lysander owned by Sally Walker
from Rotherham. Champion
Section C/D and overall supreme
Welsh was Ballagh the Buck
owned by Julie and Tim Hall.

For many of the competitors
it was their first show and the
ideal place to come and have a
go at showing.
Abbie Winter with Cherry
Blossom and Phillip Pitchford
with Baltic Charm were both
attending their first ever show
with their youngsters, who were
fantastically well-behaved and
got placed in every class. Also
attending their first show was
Evie Eccles aged 8 with her pony
Bransby’s Orphan Annie who is
from Bransby Horse Welfare and
has only been with Evie for a
couple of months and they won
the Walk and Trot class with top
three placings in all other classes.
Winning the Ridden Pure Breed
and Ridden Pony class was Natalie
Jade Smith with Hackamore
Golden Pearl. The winner of the In
hand Judges Highly Commended
Championship was Wendy Bailey
and her Friesian mare Floor B,
Phillip Pitchford and Baltic Charm
taking Reserve and Abbie Winter
and Cherry Blossom taking first
reserve. The overall winner of
the In hand Championship was
Danielle Laverick and her mare
Ciera with Wendy Bailey and Floor
B as reserve champions.
The winner of the Ridden
Judges Highly Commended
Championship was Caitlyn Pau,
who is only 5 years old and her
Shetland, Tommy, who went
beautifully for her and was
placed in every class entered
with reserve going to Evie Eccles
and Bransby’s Orphan Annie.
The overall winner of the Ridden
Championship was Summer
Ellison riding Tiger Moth and
reserve was Lilly Phillips riding
Charmer.
A lovely day was had by all,
everyone commenting what a
friendly and encouraging show it
was with fantastic judging!
