Shajalal Housing
Co-operative
Shajalal was originally founded 30 years ago by the
Bangladeshi community in Aston and Saltley. The co-op
in its present form came into existence just over 10 years
ago when three Bangladeshi housing co-operatives
merged to form Shahjalal, which now has 77 properties.
The current committee aims to expand the scale and
nature of the work of the co-operative while still
having strong emphasis on serving the Bangladeshi
