Our commitment to Social Value
In October 2019 our Social Value Policy was reviewed and
approved. The policy explains what social value means to
Accord and summarises our approach to understanding,
measuring and communicating the difference we make.
Organisationally we understand social value as the value
that stakeholders experience through changes in their lives.
It is important to consider and measure this social value
from the perspective of those affected by an organisation’s
work.
What are our social value priorities?
We are committed to delivering social value across our
services and our social value priorities relate to three
themes:
• Housing choice - providing a wide range of homes to meet
needs and aspirations through the delivery of new homes
and the provision of a range of home rental and ownership
options.
• Supporting our customers across four key domains: digital
inclusion, financial inclusion, jobs, skills and enterprise and
health and wellbeing.
• Supporting the creation of thriving and resilient
communities through innovative social investment projects
including the Click Start Project and Holiday Kitchen.
We measure the impact of our activities so we understand
how much social value we are creating. This helps us take
informed decisions to try to make even more of a difference.
