Accord Equality & Fairness Report 2020
Case study
Neighbourhood
Network Development
(Hall Green Birmingham)
Accord was commissioned by Birmingham City Council
to lead on the development of Hall Green’s Birmingham
Neighbourhood Network Scheme; a “prevention
first” approach to help citizens lead healthy, happy,
independent lives within their own homes and
communities.
The Accord Way - Co-operative
This work supports the future implementation of
Birmingham’s Adult Social Care Strategy based on
locality social worker teams working to deliver adult
social care through the Partners 4 Change and “3
Conversations” Adult Social Work model.
During the development stage, Accord;
Produced a monthly community asset register/directory
through community mapping and engagement work;
• Engaged with the local social work teams, introducing
and connecting them to community networks and
assets;
• Conducted a gap analysis of the community offer,
through engagement with social workers and community
assets;
• Conducted a gap analysis of the skills, knowledge,
capacity and development needs/aspirations of
community groups and organisations.
At the end of the project Accord produced its findings of a
gap analysis to help inform future investment during 2019/20
into Hall Green, which is particularly concerned with the
community offer for older people and the skills and capacity
of community groups and organisations. During COVID 19 this
has morphed into a holistic “all ages” support programme
