Enfield Public Schools Session E — PK-12 Office 365: Using OneNote as a Collaborative and Organizational Tool Cory O’Connell Location: Fermi D222 During this session, participants will be taken through the steps to set up a OneNote teacher notebook to use in the classroom. There will be a review of the features of OneNote that are applicable to collaboration, organization, and presentation. Session G — PK-2 Phonemic Awareness/Phonics Instruction: Small and Whole Group Ideas and Materials Christine Turcotte-White Location: Barnard Library Session F — 6-12 Using Video Technology to Improve Student Instruction John Dague Location: EHS E130 Teachers will work with a team of trainers to learn to use Discover Video technology in a variety of ways. Included will be how to create multimedia presentations for use at school and home; how to upload, manage, and play live and recorded educational video; and how to create text overlay for video content. Session H — PK-12 Yoga for the Classroom: Creating a Calming Environment Diana Latorre Location: Fermi Gym This session will give an overview of various activities and materials teachers can use in whole or small group to support the foundational skills of phonemic awareness and phonics. This will be a mass overview of these two pillars of reading. Information from "The Best of Teacher's College Phonics Instruction" will be shared. This session will add to educators' classroom management skills and help them create a safer and more effective learning environment. This will be a "hands-on" course where participants will work in groups to review and teach breathing and yoga exercises that they can share with their students to reduce stress and anxiety and create a sense of focus. Participants will experience a yoga class and will need to wear loose clothing and bring a yoga mat, towel/ blanket, water, and paper and pen. Page 9
