Diseases of epidemic proportions usually have secluded origins, they start off as one that just affects a small group of individuals, but then rapidly diffuse and infect other individuals, spreading throughout the nearby populations until it has taken hold of the indigenous population and significantly changed the cultural landscape and lifestyle of its people. disease spreads via means of Contagious Diffusion, which is defined as widespread diffusion of a characteristic throughout the population. Globalization has both aided and hindered the spread of contagious diseases as it allows the disease to possibly spread faster and farther, but at the same time relief and aid efforts have greatly increased in numbers and range, they are able to reach previously difficult to reach and isolated placed becasue of the unifying nature of globalization
