In central Malaysia, more than half of the full time employees in the medical devices industry are
working as stationary plant and machine operators and 25% of them are science and engineering
associate professionals.
Majority of the workforce in northern Malaysia are semi- / low skilled workers, e.g. stationary
plant and machine operators 39%, assemblers 17% and manufacturing and transport labourers
12%.
The employees in southern region are mainly engaged for plant and machine operation as well
as assembly related jobs.
