5.2.3 Awareness of NOSS in the industry
The awareness of NOSS and its function is currently very low among the industry players.
Nonetheless, upon explanation and with examples shown during the industry workshops,
industry players agreed to use NOSS as a basis to document the required skills and
competencies as well as curriculum and training programs needed for the occupations in the
medical devices industry. The industry players also acknowledged the importance of their
participation in the development of NOSS for the industry. The industry associations were
suggested to take the lead in developing the curriculum and training programs by providing
further input from the companies to improve the syllabus. The curriculum and training
packages shall be reviewed every 2 years to ensure they stay relevant to the needs of the
industry.
