Environmental Scan 2017: Human Capital Issues within the Medical Devices Sector
3.4 Collaboration with Educational and TVET Institutions
Currently, 25 % of the surgical / medical gloves manufacturers, 46 % of other medical consumables companies and 43 % of the non-consumables companies do not have any form of collaboration with educational or TVET institutions. The most common type of collaboration in all three segments are the offering of internships to students. Companies’ participation in the review of curriculum / development of training program is quite low, which explains the skill gaps between supply and demand of talents.
