Launched in the year of 1993
Paratodos, from the album that bears
the same name, the music of Chico
Buarque does in few verses in less than
three minutes a true tribute to the great
names of the history of Brazilian music,
as Tom Jobim, Luiz Gonzaga, Caetano
Veloso, Gil, Cartola, Gal, Maria
In addition to celebrating the
miscegenation of our people, present
even in our popular music, Chico also
makes an analogy of moments of your
life or the life of any of us, in which these
artists somehow participated, as if it
were there, in each situation, a certain
composition,
whether
in
good
experiences or bad experiences, as the composer himself says in one of the
excerpts "to see hells and wonders".
Early on, he speaks of the members of his family, his father, his grandfather, his
great-great-grandfather and his sovereign master (Tom Jobim) as if it were his
familiar, revealing the importance of that figure, for his training as an artist.
The song has an air of homage, but also deals with the path taken to become a true
Brazilian artist, speaks of his inspirations and experiences that made the musician
Chico Buarque, the artist he is today, because indifferent to the musical taste of
each one, one can not deny the relevance of Chico and his compositions not only
in the world of music, but in the Brazilian scene in general, where he undoubtedly
left his mark and became one of the great names worthy of homage.
