and we can’t go backwards now. That’s
why it’s all so artificial and ‘same’ sounding for the most part. It’s allowed for this
climate of the non-musician being able to
call him or herself an artist far too easily.
In fact practically any of the big stars in
music today don’t know a thing about
the creativity used to create the songs
that drive their careers. It’s not the music
business anymore it’s the entertainment
business with a music soundtrack added.
There is a huge difference between being
musical and being a musician. So Mr. or
Ms. Non-musician can push a button to
get a beat, press a key and get a chord
and have a basic song the way I see it
and record companies did their part in
ruining the publics appetite with cramming
the banal down the publics ears. Look
carefully. It’s come a long way since Elvis
and sun records. You really think that a
25 yr. old A&R at a label has the depth to
know anything other than what his or her
taste is any further back than the 70’s?
When they can put a funky beat behind
some sex inferred phrase and whoop
there it is…..trash. We fill our minds with
it all the time. Programming the lowes t
mess of filth we can. Now the paradigm
has shifted and with labels drying up
and going away it’s even worse. But yes,
I have posted a few pieces from this
incredible arsenal of music I’ve written
that apparently has fallen through the
cracks of time., Take my YouTube bootleg
someone shot of me performing a piece
for my Michael Jackson variations….hope
looms eternal. One day me and time will
intersect. In fact it’s more about Gods
time than mine anyway, if I never get
discovered down here.
6) Who are some of the musicians that
you played with?
Over the years I’ve performed onstage
solo and with a lot of talented people even
now I have about 15 musicians I know
who can help me do a show or a demo in
the studio for projects and I’ve met some
narrow petty people along the way too.
Never the less I call my group of connects
‘A” Dream Production .I know some great
sound engineers, like john Saunders who
has done world class acts , whey cooler
the creative man behind ‘pretty poison’ or
Mike Capozzolli with whom I helped put
together a nice sound library sounddaddy.
com. And a phenomenal keyboard tech
and musical artist named franklin hart,
28
who keeps me in this century. I keep my
eyes and ears open because there is
always someone sharper than you are that
you can learn from.
7) What mentors of yours were the
most influential?
My dad was an artist, he restored antiques in the furniture business, my mother was the musician and spiritually bent.
The fabulous pianist and pupil of Leo
Orstein Anthony Casario was really the
one who created me hands on, but there
have been a number of influences that
combined with my own leonine personality fused me into an artist…..Horowitz
, Andre Watts, Mario Lanza and Caruso,
weird mixes like Miles Davis and Peter
Frampton. Gino Vannelli whom I’ve met
a number of times over the years. To the
late evangelist earl e. Cleveland and of
course for me the most towering musical
figure of all, Franz Liszt
8) Has your book been received as
well as you would have hoped?
I already know there HAS to be a huge
segment of people that would love my
story. Especially those who ARE artistic
or lets sat compelled creative who never
found their way or heard all the “answers”
from people who don’t have their best intentions in mind. You see…..unfortunately,
competition and judging qualified themselves into the mix…..and all my book
does is subtly underline that no matter
talented you think you are……there is no
pot of gold at the end of the rainbow……
where was Jimi Hendrix’s or people like
Sammy Davis or Jamie Jamersons……?
Monetarily…….they died in debt. Or let’s
say Mozart…..like the ark of God’s covenant……..buried to where is no human
knowledge. I didn’t write the kind of sex,
drugs and music plus story I could have. I
wrote a story that has hidden within it the
seeds of perception. IF the reader can relate. And NO…..it hasn’t been published.
YET. Slow knowing smile.
9) What are you doing currently, either
musically or writing? Your book is a
great read.
Thank you and thank you for the opportunity to be revealed to your readership.
What I sent you was just the manuscript
of a book that hasn’t met it publisher yet.
Sort of like my whole life when it comes
to my artistic endeavors overall. Undiscovered like the galaxies that exists far
beyond the recognized. I am driven forces
that doesn’t fit modern success, or vast
wealth or fame. Even today I realize that
what I was granted has goals and purposes I can’t explain….I’ve had people tell
me what I’m not. Not a man, not talented,
not successful, sniffed on me like the lines
of coke everyone snorted. Or preachers
who knew they didn’t want to hear my
songs….. because they knew I wasn’t
commercial but terrible effective. But
they could never write a note of it because they couldn’t even tell you the key
it was in….yet….the possibility of a run to
Singapore with a show we call the “time
machine” is on the table. Right now.
10) When you decide to relax and
enjoy yourself, what do you like to do
for fun?
I love to paint; I painted quite a bit while
my unique round house was being built.
I’d love to do more of it again but I did
enough to fill a small gallery. I love to
read, no fiction mostly about people and
various books about spirituality. I have
considerable insight into the Bible too.
I need a break and a vacation to somewhere …..like disappear for a few months
and get lost…… come back with some
great new sounds. I’ve been writing on
a high level since I was about 15. And
maybe even new people to fill my life
with something different love and desire
are powerful tools of motivation not to be
underestimated.
11) How can our readers see you perform, get your book or contact you?
Anyone can reach me by email.
Ajodah means city of the gods in the
Hindu religion, I was named after my dad
who was East Indian by way of Trinidad.
Oh, you can find me by google which will
throw you to my FB page.
And you can see or hear me by searching
my name on YouTube and soundcloud.
My contact number is 856-566-1566.
God bless.

ABOUT:
Devante Le-Yeom (J.O.T)
The J.O.T. stands for Jack of all traits,
I tend to try to be amazingly good at
everything I go for. Most of my heart
belongs with dancing, but I am trying to have an open mind about this
and really understand all of art. Every
form, every aspect, and every style
of it. I personally feel like if one can
understand anything about art then
there is no way he could mess up.
Picked up modeling about when I was
20, and honestly, it didn’t catch me
enough to wanna stay. But later on I
ended up realizing it was only because
I understood almost nothing about
it. It’s more then just pose and flick.
It’s an art for of its own consisting of
acting, story telling, and much more.
I soon will break through the eyes of
others in the name of a model. Not
now, but some day.
