Dave Chappelle is an exceptional comedian who utterly speaks his mind and points out the true nature of things either bad or good . The Netflix special labeled ‘ 8:46 ’ is no surprise to his audience as he leaves no stone unturned ; he takes to stage to publicly condemn the police brutality thatled to the death of George Floyd . This particular video is available on YouTube under the title ‘ Netflix Is A Joke and was filmed June 6 , 2020 , in Yellow Springs , Ohio . From the onset , the video has an interesting caption that amplifies what took place between a police officer named Derek Chauvin from Minneapolis and George Floyd . ‘ 8:46 ’ captures the length of the ordeal . This title pinpoints the specific length of time that the police officer pressed onto Floyd ’ s neck using his knee while he laid on the ground . The video commences as Chappelle emotively states his reaction upon seeing the tape . The comedian expresses his anger that people have somewhat lost their humanity . At the start of the video , his tone confidently suggests that Floyd could not survive that ordeal . After watching the entire tape , Chappelle stated that the man was probably going to die . Additionally , the Netflix Special feature him expressing his disappointment at the law enforcers present at the site . He exclaims that while they tortured Floyd he did not show any form of resistance since they had comfortably tucked their hands in their pockets .

The comedian states in the special that this sad occurrence is not the responsibility of the celebrities but every person . While Don Lemon believes that celebrities in the United States should not remain silent about the issue , Chappelle does not agree with him . He presents his argument by recalling the reception of Ja Rule ’ s thoughts following massive attacks that took place in 2001 . At this point , he poses the question if after Floyd ’ s death is an appropriate time to hear from a celebrity . Rhetorically , he suggests that at these moments people do not care what celebrities have to say about the issue . The Netflix Special ends on a high note as Chappelle slams individuals such as Candace Owens and Laura Ingraham who seemingly mock Floyd ’ s demise .
