Tomas Diaz is embracing the future of consumerism with his new take on digital communication . The CEO of flexEngage is looking to implement contactless receipts , flexReceipts , in the hopes of shaping the landscape of commercial businesses in the ever-changing times . Diaz started his business after his experience with financial analysis and later pivoted to creating post-sale opportunities for businesses to engage with their customers . As the co-founder and chief executive of flexReceipts , he is responsible for its development how to best integrate it with post-purchase marketing businesses . Diaz anticipates that contactless payments will be especially important in light of the pandemic . “ Many retailers are still relying on handing the customer a germ-laden paper receipt to end the transaction ,” said the company CEO . His hope is that a digital method of payment offers a healthier , simpler alternative that promises to reduce unnecessary exposure between consumers and workers . He hopes that it will be a more effective measure than curbside service , which has become a prominent order fulfillment strategy during COVID-19 but offers little feedback about customer experience . “ Things are evolving at such a quick pace during this time ,” said Diaz , “ that we truly need to stay nimble and adapt to the retailers ’ and their customer ’ s needs .” FlexReceipts allows for a completely contactless shopping experience , where shoppers can prioritize convenience and safe shopping by using a digital receipt and picking up their order . Additionally , going digital opens up a platform for further interactions and easier spread of information ; the technology allows for increased customer information that will allow businesses to expand their loyalty program reach and build their advertising strategies . Diaz hopes that in this way , customers will be better informed about upcoming sales and rewards , prompting increased business and revenue . Diaz agrees that a valid concern accompanying the new era of digital marketing is that businesses could lose the relationships with customers that are typically established with in-person encounters . He hopes , however , that online communication will serve less as a replacement of this and more as an added bonus to the consumer experience . “ There has to be a healthy balance to help delight the customer with efficiency and drive the relationship necessary to build loyalty ,” Diaz explains . The pandemic has caused immense upheaval within communities , and Diaz hopes to start small by lessening the risks through flexReceipts . If avoiding a physical grocery receipt means evading a virus , Diaz says he is more than happy to pour his resources into expanding the technology and wielding it as a powerful tool for positive change .
