What are you working on now ?
I ’ m working on a film project right now , Harlem , coming to Amazon Prime this fall . It ’ s by NBC and Comcast . In addition to myself , it stars Meagan Good , Grace Byers , and Amy Poehler produces it . Pharell Williams and Whoopi Goldberg , and Jasmine Guy star in it as well .
What types of projects are you looking to do ?
Everyone knows me from all my past projects , whether it be Coach Carter One on One or Cousin Skeeter . So now that I ’ m older , I ’ d like to do more action films , ones that include more running scenes and weapons . And some that allow more romantic scenes would be great as well .

So with that , you ’ ll see me this fall in one of my films--it ’ s called California Love . I play the lead character , Jay Hoover , who ’ s the head of Hoover Crips .
What do you enjoy about acting ?
Anyone who knows me knows how much I love acting . I ’ m obsessed with the craft of acting . But , what I love the most about it is the teamwork aspect . I kind of see acting as my sport . So , I put my best effort forward , always showing up early , working hard , always working out to ensure I look well in my roles , and being a team player , as , with teamwork , you can accomplish more .
Can you name an actor and director you would like to work with ?

So I ’ ve worked with a long list of actors in my 26 years . I worked with Samuel L . Jackson , Jamie Foxx , John Travolta and was excited to work with a couple of them . I want to work with Director Christopher Nolan ; I love his films . He creates these super psychological thrillers that I love watching . And then , on the camera side , acting , I want to work with Idris Elba . I think he ’ s great , and I ’ d love to work with a British actor .
What are some reasons you focus on your well-being ?
Everyone knows that I put health first . My slogan is “ Your road , your freedom .” My dad always says that your attitude is your altitude , so you get down , work hard , keep your body strong , and look out
