Director Steve H . Broadnax III took the words of Keenan Scott II and made them shine in true fashion as the show took us on a breath-taking journey into the beautiful complexity of the Black man . The show took us on a rollercoaster of emotions , but that ’ s exactly how life ultimately plays out . This cast undeniably captured our hearts in 105 minutes and truly never let go of it , which is a true testament to the power of their gift which was on full display Wednesday night . A standing ovation was unfortunately all we could give the magnificent 7 on stage , but they truly deserved so much more than just our admiration . What these men gave us that night was truly priceless and as we left the theater it was totally clear that Broadway will never be the same because not only is it back , but it was historically and beautifully all BLACK . Please do yourself a favor and catch this must see show and be a part of history while you can for its limited run as tickets are sure to sell out .
