Broadway is back and better than ever . The covid-19 pandemic stopped the world as we know it and our beloved City of New York truly was never the same . For 18 months the theater world went dark as Covid cases continued to rise while residents and tourist fled the big city , which ultimately left us feeling uncertain when we would ever see a show again . at the Golden Theatre set a President for Broadway with it being the first to ever be written , directed , starring and lead produced by all Black artists . Now that alone was all the reason we needed to be there to witness history being made and from the huge turnout of celebs which included Phylicia Rashad , Nick Cannon , Nicole Ari Parker , Don Lemon , Jessie J , Anna Wintour , Ryan Jamaal Swain , Michole White , Kenny Leon , Alano Miller , Dewanda Wise , Wyclef Jean , Freddie Jackson , A $ AP Ferg along with two of the shows producers Kandi Burruss and |
Samira Wiley , we all were ready for one hell of an experience . What I witnessed that night was simply magic as Tristan Mack Wilds , Dyllón Burnside , Luke James , Bryan Terrell Clark , Da ' Vinchi , Forrest McClendon and Esau Pritchett brilliantly told the story of 7 black men ’ s experience in the world through Love , Lust , Happiness , Depression , Anger , Wisdom and Passion . Their monologues were breathtaking as they all respectfully stood out on their own , but what truly made the show magical was their chemistry on stage together as an ensemble . |
