In this country , it is common that the writers are not listened neither in their books , nor in their conferences , nor in their opinion columns even when the people ask them to do it . For example , Gabriel García Márquez was a critical person that talked in their books about the real situation of the country , but the most of Colombian people ignored him . In books like “ La mala hora ” or “ El coronel no tiene quién le escriba ” he showed so many situations that Colombia lived in that past , but still are causing damage to our country . Nevertheless , Gabriel García truly believed in people , and he hoped that one day this will be a place free of “ One hundred years of loneliness ”.
Other example about the importance that people gives to the writer could be Fernando Vallejo who with his books and columns of opinion criticizes the social aspects of Colombia as politics or about the power of Catholic Church . For that last topic , he needed the Mexican ’ s nationality because he was accused by the Church when he published a column in the magazine “ SoHo ” that according to the judge it was an attack to the Church and its believers .

As I said before , the writer gets the opportunity to enter in the reader ’ s mind , so they make a connection with the people . As Italo Calvino said “ there are two kinds of writers ; those who write in block , and those who write word to word ”. Both styles are acceptable , but the second according to Eveilo Rosero ( a Colombian writer ) is better to carry the reader to a place where he may understand the writer ’ s purpose . Of this form , I think it is the right way that I can use to change the thinking of people since if I carry them to the places , to the ages or to the contexts appropriate , I can appeal to the reason of them , but guiding them for the road that I want them to see .
