It is fitting that the “Women Who Pay It 4ward” Honors brunch series
made an appearance in the “Queen’s City” of Charlotte, N.C. Four
women influencers making their mark in the city were honored by
BMW of North America and MADE Magazine at ClubONE in Charlotte.
Brunch delights were curated by chef, TV
personality, writer and one of the food
industry’s newest and sassiest rising stars,
Palak Patel. The event was hosted by Erica
Bryant, Emmy Award winning journalist
and weeknight co-anchor at WSOC-TV
“Channel 9 Eyewitness News.” Bryant
emceed the formal program where the
following women were recognized:
VERONICA FOSTER – Serving as
Deputy Chief Of Police for the Charlotte-
Mecklenburg Police Department,
Foster is a 26-year-veteran of the police
department. Foster received her Bachelor’s
in Psychology from
the University of
North Carolina
at Charlotte,
and Master’s
in Business
Administration
from Pfeiffer
University. She is also the founder of
CMPD HOPE, a non-profit organization
that financially assists CMPD personnel in
times of financial crisis. Recently, Foster was
recognized by the American Cancer Society
for her service as a Road to Recovery
Driver where she volunteers to take cancer
patients to treatment.
TIF FANY LYNN JONES – The current
Area Development Director for UNCF
Charlotte Area Office, Jones is responsible
for establishing short- and long-range goals
and conducting comprehensive, cost-
effective annual fund raising campaigns
within her area of operation to support
the 37 UNCF member institutions. As an
undergraduate, Jones studied Mass Media
and Broadcast Journalism at Hampton
University, and Sociology at Norfolk State
University. With a passion for helping
others, Jones is an avid supporter of various
national, community based and civic
