Day 1: Rome Day 4: Urbino › Florence (280 km)
• Arrival in Rome by own means and free lunch.
• Guided Visit to Musei Vaticani where Raffaello frescoed the Stanze Vaticane: four rooms commissioned by Pope Giulio
II and by Pope Leone X. These wonderful rooms are a masterpiece of art expression: Stanza della Segnatura, Stanza di
Eliodoro, Stanza dell’incendio di Borgo and Sala di Costantino.
• Tour inside the museum continues with the visit of Loggia di Raffaello, Prima Loggia and Loggetta del Cardinal Bibbiena
with amazing frescos before moving to the Pinacoteca Vaticana with Raffaello’s paintings like Madonna di Foligno, La
Trasfigurazione, Pala degli Oddi, Pala Baglioni and Arazzi (tapestries) drawn by the artist.
• Visit to Basilica di San Pietro, the heart of Vatican City.
• Free dinner and overnight. • Guided visit to Galleria degli Uffizi to admire several paintings by Raffaello: Ritratto di Leone X con I cardinali Giulio De
Medici e Luigi De Rossi, Autoritratto, Ritratto del Perugino, Ritratto di Elisabetta Gonzaga, Ritratto di Francesco Maria

• Guided visit to Palazzo Pitti to admire the Galleria Palatina, a collection dedicated to the main Medici family’s paintings
instituted at the end of 1700s and other masterpieces by Raffaello: La Velata, Ritratto di Maddalena Strozzi, La Madonna
della Seggiola, La Madonna del Granduca, La Gravida, Ritratto di Agnolo Doni, Madonna del Baldacchino, Madonna
dell’Impannata, Ritratto di Fedra Inghirami e Ritratto del Cardinal Bibbiena,

• Overnight.
Day 2: Rome
• Guided Visit to Galleria Borghese where more Raffaello’s masterpieces are preserved: Deposizione Borghese, a
dismembered part of Pala Baglioni, Ritratto Virile and Dama col Liocorno.
• Guided visit to Chiesa di Santa Maria del Popolo with its wonderful Cappella Chigi: it was commissioned to Raffaello by
Agostino Chigi and the artist designed the architecture and drew the decoration of the cupola.
• Lunch in a restaurant in the centre with typical roman dishes.
• Guided visit to Villa Farnesina, one of the most noble creation of the Renaissance: frescoed by Raffaello with paintings
inspired to classical myths.
• Guided visit to Chiesa di Sant’Agostino with its fresco Profeta Isaia by Raffaello and to Chiesa di Santa Maria della Pace
where you can admire the fresco Sibille e Angeli by Raffaello.
Day 5: Florence
• Breakfast, end of tour and departure.
Day 3: Rome › Urbino (290 km)
• Breakfast and transfer to Urbino by own means around 7.30 am.
• Free lunch and meeting with guide in the early afternoon. Urbino is Raffaello’s birthplace: here the artist lived his
adolescence and his first contacts with art, passed on from his father, also a painter, Giovanni Santi. Urbino was very
important for his art formation because in that period Urbino was the most important artistic centre.
• Guided visit to Palazzo Ducale, a masterpiece of architecture due to great artists such as Maso di Bartolomeo, Luciano
Laurana and Francesco di Giorgio Martini where in XV century Federico Da Montefeltro expressed his power.
• Stop at the Galleria Nazionale delle Marche inside Palazzo Ducale, an art collection including La Muta, a portrait made
by Raffaello.
• Visit to Casa Raffaello where the artist was born on March, 28th 1483. Here you can find Madonna di Casa Santi, by
Raffaello and objects connected with the painter as sketch for his monument, copies of his paintings, homages from
other artists to the Italian painter.
• Free dinner in Urbino and overnight.
