Day 1: Rome Day 4: Florence
• Arrival in Rome by own means and free lunch.
• Guided visit to Basilica di San Pietro in Vincoli where wonderful sculptures by Michelangelo are preserved: Tomb of
Giulio II, Mosè, Lia and Rachele.
• Guided visit to Basilica of Santa Maria Sopra Minerva that hosts the great sculpture Cristo della Minerva.
• Free time and free dinner.
• Overnight. • Guided visit to Galleria degli Uffizi to admire Michelangelo’s famous painting Tondo Doni and other masterpieces of the
Italian Renaissance.
• Free time and free lunch.
• Guided visit to the Cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore, Baptistry, Crypt and to Museo dell’Opera del Duomo where the
unfinished work of Michelangelo Pietà Bandini is conserved.
• Guided visit to Palazzo Vecchio to admire the marble sculpture Genio della Vittoria. Here you can learn more also
about the lost fresco Battaglia di Cascina commisioned to Michelangelo but never completed and Leonardo’s Battaglia
di Anghiari.
• Free dinner and overnight in Florence.
Day 2: Rome
• Guided visit to Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel where Michelangelo frescoed the Vault, considered one of the
unconditional masterpiece of western art. In the Sistine Chapel Michelangelo frescoed also the Last Judgment decoring
the wall behind the altar: it’s a majestic and impressive representation of art for which you will remain really stunned.
• Visit to Paolina Chapel, inside the Vatican Museum, where two frescos by Michelangelo are conserved: Crucifixion of
Saint Peter and Conversion of Saulo.
• Visit to Basilica di San Pietro, designed principally by Donato Bramante, Michelangelo, Carlo Maderno and Gian Lorenzo
Bernini. Here you will have the chance to admire the incredible sculpture Pietà Vaticana.
• Free dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Florence
• Breakfast, end of tour and departure
Day 3: Rome › Florence (280 km)
• Breakfast and transfer to Florence by own means.
• Guided visit to Gallerie dell’Accademia, the well-known museum that exhibit the most number of sculptures by
Michelangelo in the world: the famous David, San Matteo, Prigioni, Schiavo giovane, Schiavo barbuto, Schiavo Atlante
and Schiavo che si ridesta.
• Guided visit Biblioteca Laurenziana and Sagrestia Nuova in Basilica di San Lorenzo (Cappelle Medicee). Here the artist
achieved amazing masterpieces of sculpture: Tomb of Lorenzo de Medici duca di Urbino, Portrait of Lorenzo De Medici
duca di Urbino, Tomb of Giuliano de Medici duca di Nemours, Portrait of Giuliano de Medici duca di Nemours, Aurora,
Crepuscolo, Notte e Giorno. The map of the building is an innovative masterpiece of architecture.
• Lunch in a restaurant with typical Tuscan menu.
• Guided visit to Museo Nazionale del Bargello to admire Bacco, Tondo Pitti, David-Apollo e Bruto.
• Guided visit to Casa Buonarroti, the house-museum dedicated to Michelangelo, that hosts other wonderful works: the
famous marble bas-relief Madonna della Scala, Battaglia dei Centauri, Dio Fluviale and Madonna col Bambino.
