DAVID KWONG Writer and Performer

With his expertise in enigmas and illusions, David Kwong delights and challenges audiences around the world with his intellectual brand of magic. A veteran“ cruciverbalist”( crossword puzzle constructor), David routinely creates puzzles for The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and Wall Street Journal. David was the head magic consultant on the 2013 worldwide hit film Now You See Me and routinely consults on film and television projects with his expertise in puzzles and illusion. A TED Talk favorite, David regularly speaks to companies, demonstrating the principles of illusion and the science of why your brain is fooled. David ' s book Spellbound: Seven Principles of Illusion to Captivate Audiences and Unlock the Secrets of Success was published by Harper Business. His kids ' book of magic tricks, How to Fool Your Parents, also with HarperCollins, came out in October and is now in its fourth printing. David is a graduate of Harvard University, where he studied the history of magic. In 2019, The Enigmatist ran for 125 sold-out performances in New York City. During the pandemic, David’ s Inside the Box, a virtual one-man puzzle show garnered a Critic’ s Pick from The New York Times. The Enigmatist has since played at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles, The Kennedy Center, and Chicago Shakespeare. David is excited to make his Canadian debut in Toronto! A proud dual citizen, he spent much of his childhood in Toronto, visiting his father ' s side of the family. David grew up across the lake in Rochester, New York and now splits his time between Los Angeles and Michigan, where his wife Ashley is from. Is an award-winning producer and the CEO and Founding Festival Producer of the Rochester Fringe Festival— New York State’ s largest multidisciplinary performing arts festival, hailed by The New York Times as“ one of the country’ s more prominent multidisciplinary events.” Now in its 14th year, the Fringe has presented over 6,700 performances and welcomed more than 850,000 attendees. Erica began her career as a professional actor in London before founding Erica Fee Productions, producing U. K. No. 1 tours, off-West End, and Edinburgh Fringe shows. She also leads Your Attention Please Productions, a new company with TV, film, and stage work in development. Erica holds degrees from the University of Rochester and ArtsEd London and was the 2016 University of Rochester Commencement Speaker. In 2024, she was inducted into Who’ s Who in America.

James is an Olivier Award winning independent commercial theatrical producer and general manager. Current productions as lead producer include Potted Potter by Dan and Jeff, which is in the sixth year of its Las Vegas residency, Black Is The Color Of My Voice by Apphia Campbell, the immersive Trainspotting Live adapted from Irvine Welsh, Buffy Revamped and FRIEND( The One With Gunther) by Brendan Murphy, an international tour of In Pour Taste – A Comedy Wine Tasting Experience, and the acclaimed new musicals Police Cops The Musical( Edinburgh Fringe & Southwark Playhouse, co-production with ROYO) and The Sorcererʼs Apprentice by Richard Hough and Ben Morales Frost, which premiered as a digital show in 2021 and can now be seen globally via BroadwayHD. Previous West End productions include The Way Old Friends Do by Ian Hallard, Margaret Thatcher Queen of Soho by Jon Brittain and Matt Tedford, Adam Kayʼs This Is Going To Hurt: Secret Diaries of a Junior Doctor, the Olivier Award winning Showstopper!
