Cyber crimes are criminal offenses committed via the Internet or otherwise aided by various forms of computer technology, such as the use of online social networks to bully others or sending sexually explicit digital photos with a smart phone. In this issue, we would like to concentrate on phishing, vishing and smishing.
Phishing is the attempt to acquire sensitive information such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details
(and sometimes, indirectly, money) by masquerading as
a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication.
Residents of Secondlife often find themselves victims of
this scam for the purpose of stealing Lindens and possibly using stolen account to decieve others.
