Roleplaying My Ass!

by Hogan2 Resident

Social networks and chat sites allow us to spend a lot of time communicating with others and sharing our life's circumstances. Some of us use the digital realm of Secondlife and sites like it to

create possibilities and identities with the aid of 3D enhancements. Isnt that the purpose of virtual worlds-- to entertain! Creating the fantasy life of a doctor, lawyer or super model seems perfectly harmless when you think about it.

Lots of chatters are home bound individuals who use virtual worlds to escape the rigor of their everyday lives. They create virtual lives far more exciting than their real life limitations will allow. Most of us find this common occurrence acceptable until we discuss virtual gender bending or lying about one's actual sexual orientation. Males pretending to be females and vice versa. Some gender benders use role play as a valid excuse to conceal a true identity. The question is doesn't your chat partner or potential cyber mate have a right to know your true gender? Is this a breach of ethics?

Cyberspace allows for a more liberated range of actions than we accept in face-to-face encounters. The Internet serves as a realm in which our socially-imposed expectations for gendered behavior do not apply. Does this mean we can learn a lesson from cyberspace interactions, and put our polarizing, single minded definitions of gender behind us as a society? Forge ahead with a new way of thinking about our sexuality as we interact with others?

A grown ass woman with nipples having lactating potential! So what happens when I discover that I have been cybering with some hairy knuckled bastard from across the ocean? I would like to stump my foot up his ass but, in absence of that option i would need to be more careful in selecting cyber partners utilizing voice as a verification method.

change my account name and delete everyone associated with her/him. Shit just leave the site all together, return to real world!
