ARLINGTON MUNICIPAL AIRPORT AWARDED $ 540,000 GRANT THROUGH BIPARTISAN INFRASTRUCTURE LAW ✅
The U . S . Department of Transportation ’ s Federal Aviation Administration will award nearly $ 1 billion from President Biden ’ s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding to 85 airports across the country , which includes the Arlington Municipal Airport , to improve terminals of all sizes .
The grants aim to expand capacity at the nation ’ s airport terminals , increase energy efficiency , promote competition and provide greater accessibility for individuals with disabilities . Building better airport terminals will improve customer experiences , move goods through the economy more efficiently to lower prices and enhance U . S . competitiveness .
The Arlington Municipal Airport serves corporate , cargo , flight training and general aviation aircraft and is on pace to see more than 120,000 aircraft operations this fiscal year , Airport Manager Trent Ballard said . The Airport , which will receive a $ 540,000 federal grant , generates about $ 236 million in economic impact for the city and accounts for approximately 906 jobs related to airport activity .
