Foreword
Under the Program of Innovative School in 6th grade we develop project-based
learning. We in VI b class have developed an interdisciplinary project: "English through
Technology and Art". The project includes the subjects: English, Information Technologies,
Arts and Music, and ends with an open lesson in February 2019.
The ultimate product is a virtual book with song lyrics and tasks on the following
topics: Planet Earth, Feelings, Stay Fit and Healthy, Jobs and Life in 2100. The grammatical
topics in the tasks are Present Simple, Present Continuous, Past Simple and Past Continuous
Tense. The lexical and grammatical exercises are different types: filling-in blanks, opening
brackets with verbs in the correct grammar tense, scrambled words, finding mistakes,
questions with open or multiple-choice answers, etc.
In creating the virtual book, we handled documents with a word processing program
MS Word. Each song is accompanied by a link to youtube, for which we generated a QR
code. So we can listen to the song and check our answers.
In music lessons, we learned one of the songs to greet our guests during the open
lesson.
In our art lessons, we created drawings on the topics which we have arranged in an
exhibition.
The Virtual Exercise Book will also be used in the English language lessons of the
remaining 6th grade classes.
