On one day of the year, everybody is eager to grab that awesome new Christmas present for an amazing deal. Although, along with the cheap discount comes with a price. All around the U.S.A, shoppers have been injured or even killed by mobs of excited or aggressive shoppers during, one particular sales event; you guessed it, Black Friday.

Normally, shoppers prepare and "study" for what to buy and what not to buy.
The traditional day after Thanksgiving shopping jackpot has become a sport with eager shoppers trying to snag the perfect deal. Black Friday is more than a great deal, it can be dangerous. A worker at a New York Wal-Mart was trampled to death when the store opened; two shoppers were also shot when a quarrel erupted at a California Toys “R” Us. Even here in Richmond, people have been getting hurt by frenzied shoppers. Many other stores all along the nation have had similar happenings.
You also may be wondering how Black Friday started. There are many variations on how black Friday started, and this is only one of them. The term black Friday comes from when there were no computers and all stock trends were recorded with a pen. Red ink would mean stocks dropping and black ink would symbolize profits and stocks going up. Therefore, Black Friday would mean profit Friday, appropriately. After retailers found that they could take advantage of drawing big crowds to discounted prices, Black Friday was born.
