Venice - Italy

The city is built on an archipelago of 118 small islands united by 455 bridges, if we include the islands of Murano and Burano. You can reach Venice from the mainland by the Liberty Bridge, which from the neighboring city of Mestre accesses Piazzale Roma. In the interior of the city there is no road traffic, being, except for the navigation through the channels that separate the islands, a city totally pedestrian. Collective transport is carried out by ferry boats known as vaporettos.

Dishes and desserts

Adriatic sea fish. The most typical are prawns, squid, Murano crabs or sardines.

Carpaccio with parmesan cheese.

Liver to the Venetian.

Rice to the "pescatora".

"Mandolato": crunchy nougat with almond.

Typical drinks:

The most typical drink in the city is spritz, an alcoholic drink, very traditional in the area of the Veneto. It can be taken with bitter.

Crodino, a non-alcoholic beverage, is also very typical; The prosecco, a frothy; The bellini, a cocktail with wine and white peach juice; The "bussulai", cinnamon-based drink, or sgroppino, a liquor with lemon sorbet, vodka and prosecco.

Although Venice is a wonder in itself, there are certain visits that you can not miss:

St. Mark's Square

Piazza San Marco is located in the heart of Venice, where you will find the most representative buildings of the city. Napoleon defined it as "The most beautiful hall in Europe".

Ducal Palace

The Ducal Palace is one of the symbols of Venice. The palace has been from the dux residence to the prison of the Republic of Venice.

Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari

Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari, commonly called the Frari, is for us the most impressive church in Venice. Its striking exterior hides a majestic interior.
