Once upon a time, in a laboratory a scientist who studied the effects of human reactions to different stimuli invented a little black controller that he called the stimulus switch. This little black switch, if used properly, would cause a tiny little microchip implanted deep within the subject’s brain. The microchip would then signal the brain to release different hormones that causes the subject to feel different emotions ranging from paranoia to glee.

The scientist would then record the subject’s reaction to sudden surges of emotions. Many of the subjects were regular people with no history of mental illness or bipolar incidents. The scientist paid surgeons to place these tiny chips in random patients in the middle of surgeries. One patient was a high-school senior who was a wrestler. During his warm-ups for the state champion match, the scientist pressed a button on his controller, which sent a surge of thyroid; a hormone that causes panic attacks. The reaction was almost instant. One second, the wrestler was jumping rope completely calm and collected, then next second he was pail, shaking, and fainted from anxiety.

The scientist couldn’t believe his invention had worked. His invention could help people with severe depression. It could help people grieve over lost loved ones, and it could even rescue people contemplating suicide. His invention mad millions of dollars and deeply contributed to the cure for depression that saved millions of lives. The end.
