My debate will be about designer babies. Designer babies are basically genetically modified humans. DNA, which are put together to create the ideal human being. My opinion is that we shouldn't mess with the natural outcome of humans, imagine you would be the person your parents wanted to be and not what you wanted to be.
Modern technology enables us to look for specific genetic mutations in inherited diseases, but at what cost? Human's genetic make-up is vastly complicated and they influence each other you tried to change and fix your child's diseases you might make it worse. Look up Jake from Vsauce3 video collaboration with ASAP science. Within the video they talk about the many advantages and disadvantages to altering your genetics. You might just make it worse. But if you do make it better, and the technology advances to be able to make our children stronger and faster, it's most likely that you would have to pay. This would be just like steroids it would be unfair to athletes who grew up underprivileged vs. wealthy children whose parents basically bred them to be athletes. In the description the first link takes you to a reliable source and a detailed article about how the public, science, and the government would react to genetic alterations. Look at the last few paragraphs of the article.
