THE SABLE ANTILOPE

These impressive antelope come from South-East Africa and males can weigh up to 270kg. They are as strong as they are aggressive. If threatened by a predator, they tend to fight and use their horns, which measure up to 1m20, to spike their enemy. Lions can often pay with their life upon encountering these antelopes.

However, their numbers are diminishing due to the increased scarcity of wild land and the activities of trophy hunters.

THE SPRINGBOK

These graceful, springing, South-African antelope live in groups comprising females and young lead by a dominant male.
