Honors English Literature / Composition
An accelerated college prep course designed for the student who has a serious interest in interpreting literature. It offers opportunities to improve reading, writing, speaking/listening and critical thinking skills through the study of literary selections from British writers organized chronologically or thematically. It emphasizes developing control in expository writing (thesis support), moving toward precision in personal narrative, descriptive and persuasive writing and refining research skills. It covers grammar, mechanics and usage.
