Robert Ghazaryan was born in Yerevan on October 4 , 1976 .
After finishing school in 1995 he entered the Department of History of the Faculty of History and Geography of the Armenian State Pedagogical University after Kh . Abovyan which he graduated with honors in 2001 . In 1997-1999 he served in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia . In 2001 he entered the postgraduate program of the Institute of History of the National
Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia .
In 2005 he defended his PhD dissertation at the Specialized Academic Council based in the Institute of History of NAS RA and received the degree of Candidate of Historical Sciences ( PhD ).
Since 2005 Robert Ghazaryan has been working at the Department of Ancient Orient of the Institute of Oriental Studies of NAS RA .
In 2008 he was appointed Scientific Secretary of the Institute of Oriental Studies of NAS RA . In the same year he was elected Head of the Chair of Oriental Studies at the International Scientific-Educational Center of NAS RA and holds this position till now . In 2013 he received the academic title of Associate Professor of Historiography . In 2011-2015 he was the Scientific Secretary of the Specialized Academic Council on
World History based in the Institute of Oriental Studies of NAS RA . In 2012-2017 he was a member ( Executive Secretary ) of the Ethics Committee of NAS
RA . In 2013 he was appointed Deputy Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of NAS
RA . In September 2020 he was appointed Acting Director of the Institute of Oriental
Studies of NAS RA .
